Frequently asked questions

What chassis does American Coach use?

All American Coach motorhomes are built on the Spartan K2 or K3 raised-rail chassis. The K3 is used on the flagship Dream and Eagle models with tag axle capability, while the K2 serves the Tradition and Revolution. Both feature independent front suspension and the Comfort Drive steering system.

What engines power American Coach motorhomes?

The Dream and Eagle use the Cummins X15 diesel engine producing 500-605 HP with up to 1,850 lb-ft of torque. The Tradition and Revolution use the Cummins L9 producing 380 HP. All models pair with Allison 3000 or 4000 series transmissions.

How is American Coach different from Fleetwood?

While both were historically part of the same company, American Coach is the premium luxury brand now under REV Group. American Coach uses Spartan chassis (vs. Freightliner), offers more elaborate full-body paint, premium interior materials, and higher-end standard features.

How often should I service my American Coach?

We recommend annual service or every 10,000 miles. Cummins engines require oil changes every 15,000-25,000 miles depending on the model. Allison transmissions should be serviced every 25,000 miles. Generator service is based on run-hours.
